week 9 - October 19

Okay, things got so crazy with all the kids extra stuff and school projects, birthdays, and fall break....translation, everything went out the window and the scale reflects that. boo. but I'm feeling like were ready to get back on track this week.

Stewart: 190 lbs.
Emily: 139 lbs.

ugh. I'm depressed that I'm nine weeks in and I've made next to no progress....but I guess you don't fail if you never give up. I may not be as thin as I want to be but I'm not obese so that is something!

Stewart: + .6
Emily: + 1.8

Week 5 - September 21

This week was odd because we weren't that great but somehow we lost weight. I guess last week was just an odd weigh in or something. Stewart has now started a month long rotation at the VA. The hours while he is there are a lot better...he has a lot of moonlighting so that complicates his schedule but he doesn't have to leave for work until 8:30!!!!!! Oh, the workouts we can do! ;O)

Results:

Emily: 137.2 lbs
Stewart: 189.4 lbs

This week I am the winner. woot woot!

Emily: - 1.8 lbs
Stewart: - .6 lbs

Week Four- September 14

ugh! this week's weigh in was really disappointing. We had such high hopes. We worked really hard all week and were really caught off guard by both of us gaining. I ran 5+ miles everyday and were did our strength training 6 days out of the week. I guess we need to think about what little changes we should have as goals to tweak in the coming weeks. I do feel really puffy. I'd like to think it is just water retention. Sigh, but after being so energized to work hard it has taken some wind out of our sails. But onward and upward! I know this is just how it goes when you are making a lifestyle change and not just dieting. Slow and steady always wins the race with weight loss. I am rekindling my hope for next week to go better! Here's to next week!

Stewart: 190 lbs
Emily:139 lbs

With us both gaining I have decided that it is a non-winning week. It'll be good to get a good weigh in next week.

Stewart: + 1.6 lbs
Emily: + .8 lbs

Week Three - September 7

Okay this week we had high hopes but we didn't really do as much as we hoped. I didn't run as much and we did our strength training only once. This week Stewart works an odd evening shift so he is going to be home in the morning so we hope to really amp it up this week and get really great progress. That being said we are happy to see that we lost weight still....slow and steady I guess! ;)  I am excited to see what next week will bring!

Results:

Stewart: 188.4 lb

Emily: 138.2 lb

Stewart had a 2.4 (1.2%) loss with a total loss of 5.8 lbs (2.9%) so far
Emily had a 1.2 (0.8%) loss with a total loss of 3.2 lbs (2.3%) so far

Week Two - August 31, 2015

So this week was hard. Stewart was working two over night shifts and  some other late nights. Plus he has to leave for work at 6:30 now instead of 7:30. We've been tired. So we didn't get to work out as much as we wanted and it made for some quick dinners that weren't as healthy as we'd like but we're still trying.

Stewart: 190.8

I ran a total of 28 miles this week which I am proud of since it meant getting up at 5:30 every morning to get it in. I wish I had more to show for it though!

Emily: 139.4

Stewart lost: .2 lbs
Emily lost: 1 lb

We hope this next week is better!

Week One - August 24, 2015

Stewart did so well. I think he only made a minor shift in his life style but has already had good results. I am excited for him!

Stewart: 191 lbs.

I was really just hoping I would have lost something, I'd love to lose 2 pounds a week but that would require me to actually eat better so I knew that wasn't happening. But I did run 30 miles this week so that had to do something! ?At  church someone got me confused with a sister in our ward who has always been quite a bit larger then me. It was a bit discouraging. I guess I look worse then I feel. boo.

Emily: 140.4 lbs.

Stewart lost 3 lbs.
Emily lost 1 lbs.

Hello

Okay, so we've been wanting to turn things around for ourselves for a long time but there has always been so much on our plates we haven't made it happen yet. But now things seem to be settling down. We are both in a place where life is happy and good and relatively easier so we are ready to focus on ourselves a bit more. :O)

With each foster baby I have gained 11 pounds. I am now 21 lbs. away from where I want to be. I was 8 pounds away from my goal at my last birthday but since then I have put it all back on. boo. I am starting to train for a half marathon with my friend we are running nine miles on Friday...wish me luck!

Stewart is 20 lbs. away from where he would like to be. Ever since he started radiology he has spent most of his days sitting and that has made it hard to stay where he would like to be. His boards are behind him and we are saving up for a road bike for him to ride to work each day so things are about to really change for him. I'm really existed for him!

Anyways, the time feels good and we are both on board and so we are starting a weight loss challenge. Each Monday we weight in and the winner gets a reward of their picking.

Yesterday, I randomly had so much fun looking through old pictures. We've had such a wonderful life. Stewart is my favorite ever. This is going to be fun new chapter of our lives too!

Our engagement pictures! Weren't we so cute?!?!!?? babies! What a great journey we've had. I think our 30s are going to be really great too!
